Based on RateMyProf it sounds like it should be a GPA booster for you. Just make sure you pay attention for trick wording on exams, use flashcards, and prepare to write out lots of notes quickly (no powerpoint, all audial) use a legend and write one character in a box instead of the whole word for anything you think may get repeated a lot.
Never do this course with Tom Spalek. I am not sure about the name but I heard there is a woman who is teaching course and you can easily pass it by just doing the assignments. Tom's exams are very hard and he has quizzes every week.
