STAT 203 - Distance Ed (Online)

Hi guys,

I'm planning on taking STAT 203 online next semester, and I am an Health Sciences major with zero background in Statistics (and I'm not too good at math), what is the level of difficulty of this course? Is it easier to take online or in class? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

  • I took STAT 203 in class during the summer and had a sessional prof... and I was quite lucky in that aspect. I believe learning SPSS is an important aspect in STAT 203, but I never learned it with that prof. I also had zero knowledge of statistics and I am horrible at math. With 203 (and probably because of the prof), I was only challenged in certain parts of the course. I was comfortable with the material for the most part and I'm actually looking forward to learning my grade for the class because that was the first time I've actually ever been comfortable with statistics/math.

All in all, I believe that I found 203 easy because my prof was easy as shit and what we learned seemed [too] basic. I know that I'm fucked for my upcoming crim courses which require SPSS, but shit, at least I can [hopefully] use 203 as a GPA booster.
  • I think it is okay as long as you utilize office hours of prof or TA to clarify material.
