Rounding Up/Curving/Scaling

Just wondering if go.sfu rounds up from the nearest .1 or .01

will a 1.99 become 2.0?

    GPA goes by hundredths.

If the true value of your GPA is 1.995 or higher, it'll round up to 2.00. If the true value of your GPA is 1.994 or lower, it'll round down to 1.99. The final value will be in the hundredths decimal point.
  • Thanks for the info!

That sucks then. Just finished my brutal midterm yesterday, was hoping for a B- in the course but now it seems I need a miracle for that. Now I'm most likely (depending on the class average) looking at a C+ which will bring my GPA to only a 1.994

Whereas to graduate it's a 2.00 minimum I believe? Guess I'll be needing to retake one of my courses then. Real bummer to be missing out by one hundredths of a point :(

But once again thanks for the info though! Much appreciated
  • You can always go to an adviser and ask them to make an exception for you.
  • Yeah sometimes profs will round up your letter grade in the course if you're very close on the margin to the next letter grade, so I'm sure something can be done for your CGPA as well if it's that close.
