Academic probation

edited June 2015 in General
IF you're only taking 6 credits (2 classes) in a semester is it even possible to get on academic probation? Also does GPA still get calculated for less than 9 credits? How does it work?

  • Why wouldn't it be not possible? If your CGPA is low enough and you do poorly enough for the 2 courses, then yes, you could get into academic probation.

    CGPA is the GPA across all your courses in SFU.
    It's calculated by (grade point * credit amount) and add for every course you took and divide by the total number of credits.
    grade point would be your letter grade on a scale of up to 4.33
    A+ = 4.33
    A = 4.00
    A- = 3.67
    B+ = 3.33
    B = 3.00 .... etc
    You can calculate your term GPA this way too if you just consider the courses you took for the semester
  • That double-negative is killing me @MXC.
