PHYS 190

edited April 2015 in General
I wanted to take this course but I'm hearing mixed things about it. Some say its a GPA booster and some claim it's the opposite. Can someone tell me the difficulty of this course? I'm from a cmpt/math background and haven't taken any kind of physics in my life.

There's hardly any math involved (just basic stuff in labs). It's a pretty easy course honestly. Class averages are pretty high. Generally 25%-30% of the students get As. It's just like any one of your other GPA booster classes. A half-ass effort will probably get you at least a B to B+.
  • Overall, it's fairly easy. There's just a lot of content in the course, and the labs are kind of pointless to the material, which might be why some people find it hard. There is barely any math or physics required. The course is specifically designed for students with no science exposure at all. It definitely has more content than other "gpa-boosters," but that doesn't really make it hard -- just tedious.
