New to SFU

edited March 2015 in General
Hi Folks,

I am new to SFU from Kwantlen and I am going into 3rd year of Mathematics at SFU (Likely Pure Mathematics).

I Would like to ask about the Enrollment date / Appointment date you get. I got it mine on March 20. Is it late? would the class be filled by then? I am mostly gonna be taking Number Theory, and Discrete Mathematics 1 and Advance Linear Algebra. Or maybe other Math classes as best suited. And, would like to take Physics 120 too.

In Kwantlen, upper level Math class barely fill up. In this semester, there's only 1 student and I in the Numerical Analysis class how about SFU? A lot of people go to Math classes in SFU too or it's like Kwantlen?

Reply would be much appreciated!

  • UD math classes rarely fill up, aside from the ones that are required by other majors. Macm 101 will most likely fill up though.
  • Thanks for the reply 112233.

    That's good to hear.
  • I think you should be fine to enroll in those classes. March 20 is just a little over a week from the beginning of enrollment.
  • thanks Shayan....seems like a good start...
  • Wow TWO students in a class? That's basically like private tutoring :P
  • Ya i know eh, but it's being offered first so maybe later numbers will go up....

And hows the parking in SFU? Worth buying a permit or not? I live in surrey so not as close...
  • During peak times, it's really hard to find parking spots.
  • Depending on which part of Surrey you live, reduce your carbon footprint and SkyTrain and take the 145 at Production, it's a hybrid.
