STAT 101

I am talking this course via DE, would I do well if I know nothing about statistics? Was this course hard or easy, any advice?

  • What is your major?

I took STAT 101 online and it was not hard. That said though if you are in a liberal arts program and are just looking to dip your toe in to statistics STAT 100 would be a better choice. Similarly if you are in a sciences major you should probably be careful to ensure you can do STAT 101 for credit.
  • it's not difficult, it's essentially just basic algebra.
  • If you suck at math like me an online course would be difficult, but that's my opinion. Because lectures can be more engaging to ask questions to prof and TA especially in tutorials/labs etc. Make sure to use your office hours often if you choose DE.
  • I am a communication major. It's just Im going to be away for a month and this is the only course that fits my schedule that's still availible. So if I sucked at math especially math 12, I shouldn't take this course right?
  • Well it's not that insanely hard, but I would recommend STAT 100 which is basically the same stuff but does not use SPSS.
