Failing a course

edited November 2014 in General
I failed the second midterm of a course and now feel like I'm gonna fail the whole course. What exactly happens if you fail? And what are my options right now to pick up my grades(study tips etc.)?

  • If you fail, your GPA is going to take a hit (which can suck if you are applying for coop jobs), and you wont get any course credit, so you'll have to take the course again. You'll at least be able to take the course again though , SFU allows for the better mark to be used for your GPA, although your transcript will say youve done this course more than once (which doesnt really matter).

I failed organic chemistry in my second year, so I know how it feels. It sucks, but in the long run its not a big deal. just take the course again next semester and segregate a lot of time towards it. For your final, start studying now while you have time before your other finals start. Hope you pass the course, good luck!
  • Do I have to pay for it again?
