still enrolled in Q courses

edited August 2014 in General

Hello,

recently I got an email that I did not satisfy the requirements to take Q courses, and thusfore SFU would have to drop my courses. I immediately booked a Q placement test and let SFU know.
they emailed me back.

"You will be dropped on Monday if you don't meet the FAN requirement. Please take the Q test and register the course again if you pass the Q test." (monday being two days ago)

Anyway being the idiot I am, I didn't even bother looking at the practise test and ended up short with 19/30.

But according to SIS I am still enrolled in Econ 103 and CMPT 120

So either
1. I am completely misinformed and Econ 103/ CMPT 120 are not Q courses
2. SFU forgot and I am free to take them (unlikely)
3. They figuired 69% in precal 12 or 19/30 was good enough (even more unlikely)
4. They are just slow in making me drop the classes (probable)

aditionally On the Q requirements page it says
"a grade of 60% - 69% in Foundations of Math 11, Precalculus 11, Principles of Math 11, Foundations of Math 12, PreCalculus 12, Principles of Math 12 or Applications of Math 12, plus direct registration in Foundations of Analytical and Quantitative Reasoning (FAN X99)."
I am not sure if I read that wrong, or it means I just have to be registered in FANX

tl;dr I have 4 questions
1, Are they gonna drop my Econ 103 and CMPT 120?
2 If I register to take FANX is that sufficient to take Q courses? Can I take them simultaniously or do I have to complete FanX first?
3. If they do drop it, what are a Some good non q 100 level courses that won't be already full at this point in time? (don't want to end up with only 2 classes)
