CMPT 373 - 473

Hey guys,

I am a Software Systems student. I have 12 classes left before graduation... however, I still need 373 and 473 which seem only to be offered in the Fall?

My enrollment date was today but before I could even attempt to get into CMPT 373 it was marked as closed. A core class like this only having a capacity of 28 students? Are other students not in a similar situation... I contacted an adviser and they told me there is a VERY high demand for this particular class yet it only has a capacity of 28?

Is there maybe an alternative class I can take? I was planning on finishing school Summer 2015, but that does not look to be possible with these two classes. I would have to ultimately take two semesters of one class each as one is a pre req for the other.

    It is rather small because it is a heavily project based. As far as I know there is no course you can substitute for it.I think the adviser is your best bet of getting in. I would keep in touch with them in case they decide to admit more students. Looking at the waiting list though it does not look good.

    Otherwise you might be able to try getting 373 waived as a prerequisite so you can take 473 now. They aren't really in any way similar. That said though if you are going to need to take classes next fall anyways maybe you do not get that much out of doing 473 now.
