Student loans gave me over $5000 for 9 credits...

edited May 2014 in General
So, this is a mistake right? or did Canada suddenly become extremely sympathetic for university students?

Last semester, I've gotten little less than 3000 for the exact same courseload and other information (other than the bank account balance, which I put in about $300 last semester, and I put $0 this time)

I also remember telling them that last semester, I worked in the past 4 months, but this semester, i didnt work at all.

Does anyone also get over 5k for their student loans on a semester - basis? and this is for people who get 9 credits only.

Thanks

  • It's normal

I got 5k each on 9 and 12 credits last year
  • It doesn't matter how many credits you have as long as you're full time you get a pretty standard amount. Usually if you're living alone and don't work they give around 5000. If you're working or living with parents you can expect 2800-3000.
  • Remember kids, it's a LOAN not a GRANT....know the difference, it could save your life.
