Applied Science Major in General Studies

edited April 2014 in General
I'm currently an electronics engineering student and I haven't been doing so well for the past couple terms. It really makes me question if this is the right program and at the same time what other programs do I feel passionate about. I have no solution for the latter. I saw general studies program an thought it was interesting. But it is a program that does not specialize in anything in paricular besides the faculty. It's very broad. Is there anyone in general studies mind giving an opinion. What kinds of jobs would this degree lead to?

  • The sacrifices that you are making right now will all be worth it once you graduate with an engineering degree. It  may seem beneficial to just settle with a general degree right now, but in terms of future career prospects, that isn't a very wise decision.
  • Contrarily to popular belief, your degree don't get you jobs, it's only part of the package...the thing that will get you a job is you.
  • Have you done a co-op term? Is it mandatory in ee?  Being out in the field might help you figure out whether ee is for you.
