macm 101 distance or lecture?

edited March 2014 in General
Anyone take macm 101 online before? Would you recommend it or would
going to a lecture be better? If it helps, Steven Pearce is doing
lecture and Anthony Dixon is doing distance education.

  • This course is tough for a lot of students. I wouldn't recommend taking it distance ed. On the other hand a lot of students have a hard time with Pearce as a Prof. I took the course with him several years ago and had no problem. He's very clear on what he expects for each test. But he's very aggressive towards students and his jokes tend to cross the line. I think it's hilarious but there's a lot of hate for him. His tests are generally very easy though as long as you show up to class and pay attention. When he says he will put something on a test he means it.
  • Wish Pearce would do Macm 201. Would take that class instantly
  • Anthony Dixon is a great great prof! However, I would still recommend lectures over online.
