WIND Coverage up at SFU Burnaby?

edited January 2014 in General
Is anyone using WIND mobile? I'm really tempted to switch over for their unlimited data plan, but I'm not sure how good the coverage is around the school.

  • I remember reading a while back that Wind improved their reception up at SFU. Here is a thread that seems to be discussing it some http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php/1809542-Wind-Mobile-Coverage-Vancouver-amp-SFU

  • Isn't Wind and Mobilicity all going bankrupt etc. because of the monster competitors dominating them which is why Canada is about to auction off more frequency bands to other competitors?
  • The Wind mobile stand in the AQ is gone LOL
  • Well they're still set up in malls and stuff so I guess they aren't bankrupt after all...beside wouldn't Burnaby Mountain be considered "urban" area?
  • Huge debate on whether tax dollars should subsidize these smaller companies so the bigger ones like Telus, Fido and Rogers can't take over and charge exuberant prices. They about to auction off new unused radio frequencies though.TMYK
  • They aren't bankrupt. The bigger fear would be they could get bought out by one of the big three. Lately though the government seems to have not been allowing those take overs to go through though.

It sounds like there is service up at sfu, but I cannot confirm that personally. Maybe ask someone at wind. Otherwise they seem like a reasonable option if you are really keen on saving some cash.
