Intended Major question

Hey guys I have a question.

I got accepted into SFU linguistics last year and on my transcipt it says "intended Linguistics major"

Now im thinking of pursuing in Crim, do i have to apply for crim now or no since linguistics and crim are under the same faculty of arts?

    Just out of curiosity, how do you go from linguistics to pursuing criminology??

    Simple: just declare your intended major when you reach the requirements.  Intended just means you're leaning towards that major but it can change when you declare your major

    @Whydoihavetoregister thanks! yeah thats what ive been hearing from others, just wanted to clearify 

    @crimematic haha idk, shit happens, I thught being a speech pathologist would be cool, then I sorta looked into it and I felt that it wasnt for me, and since im at sfu why not take advantage of crim since schools like UBC dont have it

    I think when I first started out mine was intended explorations but I forgot how I got it changed to Criminology but my friend also had Program: "intended" Crim and he talked to the advisor, gave him his student # and got it changed to Program: CRIM

    @beanbean. Did u friend went from intended major to major without fulfilling the lower division requirement? How did s/he do that?  If u declare major, then u have advantage over some course enrollment.

    I just said, he talked to the advisor. And there is a difference between major and program so his was intended program: CRIM but got it changed to CRIM, just like mine. Declaring your major only gives you advantage over courses where there are reserved seats for majors in that department only and gives you priority. But only the ones with reserved seats, so even if it's in your department and you major in it but there are no reserved seats, you have equal chance just as everybody else. Enrollment time isn't affected either since it's based on credits.
