Force withdrawal

edited November 2013 in General
Hi, im just wondering...for first year sfu students, at what point of the year would sfu review our marks to determine if they want to kick us out or not?
Like first semester i fail all 4 courses, do i still get the spring and summer semester to pull up the gpa to stay in sfu?

  • Google sfu academic probation.that will have all the answers. Short answer is you have one semester to pull your grades up
  • oo thanks~ i googled it, its still good even if i get cgpa is below 2 but my next semester's gpa is above 2? That way i can just pull my cgpa up slowly?

    Thanks again!
  • No you cant just "pull your CPGA slowly." Read through the page:

Next semester you need to get your CGPA over 2.00

Your cgpa can remain below 2 next semester as long as your term gpa is above 2, so i guess you kind is can pull up slowly.but you want to pull it up as quick as you can. Email an advisor if you're unsure about anything. If your cgpa is still below 2 after next semester you will just continue on academic probation.
  • thanks 112233, thats exactly what i mean.

Crimematic, i was just confirming what i read. On that page it says you will be forced to withdraw if your term gpa AND cgpa is both below 2. But like 112233 said, if my term gpa is above 2 but cgpa is below 2 i will continue to be academic probation.

Thanks guys, but yea i will work hard and try to pull both up asap.
  • Oh shit son, what the hell are you doing?
  • @ main yes 112233 is right, you wont be forced to withdrawal, but you definitely don't want to remain on academic probation because as soon as you get a term GPA below 2.00 you are done. So like I said, I strongly recommend you get your CGPA above 2.00 by next semester.
  • Being consistently on academic probation consecutively like that is like being Mario small version without being on shrooms for up-size so it's one hit KO. Or like being in the super-red bloody screen on CoD, one more shot and you dead no re-spawn cuz it's S&D and you have to wait for next semester to respawn. Or playing Halo with no overshields.

I don't play any of those games but just sayin.
