that's what I am asking.. Is it hard? Is Brian Funt a good professor? what's about the average grades..?
I am not interested in Computer Vision. I am just looking for an interesting course. Of course it will be a little bit challenging as it will be an upper level..
I attended 2-3 classes of 412 before switching to another class. He is somewhat messy when he writes on a board and his assignments will take a lot of time. He is a fun prof though!
Easier 4th level courses: CMPT454(Database Systems 2), CMPT470, CMPT456
I have never taken 412, not a course with Brian Funt so I cannot say. If you are just looking for a one off computing elective though I can tell you that 412 is likely a poor choice, regardless of who is teaching it.
If I were you I would be trying to take things you are interested in or will be useful. That is what electives are for. Either that or things that fit into your schedule extremely well.
470 is probably one of the only "easy" upper division computings. All of the other ones will require effort to get through them. There is a lot to choose from next semester, It shouldn't be hard to find courses.
I will definitely take 470, if I find any seat available. I took 354 (database 1) and I didn't like it because of the professor (Wo-Shun Luk) so I am a little bit worried about 454.. Unfortunately 456 is not in the 2014 Spring.
I know that probably is difficult but I am just asking. What about 361 Intro to Computer Graphics?
