Your studying habits for finals

edited October 2013 in General
What're your guys' studying habits when it comes to finals? I have four finals this semester, really wanting to ace them.
I'm going to start studying in depth for each course starting the week of Nov. 11th, with one week per course. Before that, I'm going to start preparing my cue cards for each course and preparing any of the studying notes I'm going to be using. 70ish days until finals but whatever, i slacked off enough before. I need to get A's 0_0
I have yet to get an A in a course at sfu :( damn B's

  • I start studying the week before the final. But im never behind in class so I just need to do practice problems over and over and over and over and over mad over again, then im usually good to go.
  • what faculty are you in? history exams are so hard to study for because half the time the prof doesn't specify what parts to study and just expects you to memorize the book.
  • I'm in Business and I agree 100% with @112233. Keep up to date and read a bit before lecture so you can get the most out of it. Crush practice questions the week prior as you likely have forgot some things from the beginning of the semester and you are golden. I'm not sure if this is as effective for History as I'm in Finance so most of my homework is quantitative.
  • Yup, im in math so that's pretty quantitative :P. This is why I like math, once you learn it, its hard to forget if you do tons of practice problems. Studying for exams is hardly stressful if you have basic time management skills. Plus cheat sheets for two of my classes, fuck yeah.
  • chh05, cue cards? I really dislike them, I can't seem to learn anything by using them, plus they are super annoying to flip or to get into one pile.
  • @112233 Telling on you.

My study habits are... think I'm going to do it this day and end up doing it 1-2 days before but really have to go long ass hours the whole days. Going to have to do things a bit differently this semester though because of 2 exams on the same day.

And cue cards are sus and bad for the environment.
  • I guess they're not really cheat sheets if you're allowed to bring them.. Lol
  • @112233 Still telling.
  • Cue cards help me because after going through a set a few times, the answers get kind of engraved in your head
  • But their carbon footprint kind of get engraved in the atmosphere :(
