stat 340/341/342

edited October 2013 in General
Anyone know how 341/342 works ? I only plan on taking 340, but I was curious as to how the other credits worked as SIS says they're at the same time.

  • Maybe it's like Stat 100/101 and that you can't have credit for both unless you take it consecutively.
  • It looks like 341 is just the R part of the course, and 342 is just the SAS part of the course (http://www.stat.sfu.ca/teaching/outlines/coursepages/stat-340.html)

I haven't taken any of them though so I can't confirm thats what it is. Sounds weird, but that is what it appears to be.
  • 341 is just the first half of 340, so you're just learning R, and 342 is the second half of 340 where you'll be working with SAS.
  • Oh thanks, do I need to register for 341 and 342, or can I just take 340? It shows both 341 and 342 as 1 credit classes but I'm already planning on taking 4 other courses without those two.
  • SAS= Special Air Service? Like the British SAS?
  • So you'll be working with the SAS? I though SFU is a comprehensive university not a royal military college?
  • @BeAnBeAn Are you sure? Since, SFU sure does make us work our ass off and desert us in a job-less world after grad like it is a royal military college :/
  • You get a job when you graduate from the royal military college....you're a soldier.

^@ryan He's not referring to the actual royal military college. The joke is he's referring to the actual army. Which makes you work your ass off and risk your life then desert you in a jobless world. aka all the veterans left to rot.
  • fair enough.
