Co-op Seeking Term

For those who have already done a seeking term for co-op, how many courses did you take while seeking? I heard that it takes a lot of time and work to apply, write resumes and cover letters, so do you take the same amount of courses you usually do while seeking? I usually take 4 classes per semester but I am debating on taking 3. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

    I have always treated it as a normal term and taken 4-5 courses.

    Do people really need to reduce course load just to look for a job?

    It doesn't take too much time. All you do is check Symplicity and write cover letters.

    Don't you have to do interviews too?

    Yes, you have to do interviews but each one is about 1 hour max.

    i took a full course load. i sent out 1 application everyday, and it takes like an less than an hour a day to write your cover letter and send it. eventually at the end i ended up sending out 43 applications got several interview invites but i only had done 2 so far and took the first job offer i got (after second interview). I didn't bother to wait for the others since it was my first coop. Interviews do that time, its not how long it is, its how long it takes to get there and back. so you may have to sacrifice some class time for interviews.

    Don't you think you should do the rest of the interviews even though you won't accept the job offer just for future opportunity?

    I wouldn't. If you have already accepted a job I would say it is not fair to the employer to waste their time.
