Anything math related, pen and paper definitely unless there is some sick math note-taking program out there I don't know about.
But Microsoft Word does wonders. I have extremely organized notes and am usually finished taking them before others and that includes all the formatting done too and diagrams if the prof has it. Word should suffice, if anyone uses OneNote they are probably keeners and think they go to Harvard.
If we get printouts of slides, I add onto those and later make my own notes with a Word template I made specifically for notes. If we aren't given anything, I just use the Word template.
Afterwards, if it makes sense for that type of class, I create a mind map to study from. That way I have an overall view of the material and can easily make connections between concepts. While everyone else is trying to study from like 30 pages of disconnected notes, I only need to look at [number of chapters we need to study] pages.
Try using mind maps when you make notes, it really helps.
i use onenote. its alot easier than word because everything is in one place and you can open a set of notes from the same notebook. Also one notebook can have many diff subjects so its handy. I'm lazy so i don't like to dig up word files and have them organized in folders and stuff
^ya I guess OneNote has those tabs and stuff. But I don't know it just looks too weird for me and hard to study from. I prefer to have a separate Word doc per each lecture. I'm pretty OCD with it though so it's always organized.
Why don't you just use that lecture time wisely and sleep? Why waste all that time trying to listen to the professor ramble when you can study and take notes from the textbook on your own?! Pfft. Everyone knows that.
I take notes and pay attention in class exactly for the reason-- because I am lazy. I don't wanna do that shit on my own. I wouldn't pay for school if I could just read a textbook and learn on my own (which I can) but they don't give you a piece of paper for that at the end of 4 years.
Yeah I was kidding haha. You pay for school so you might as well go to the classes. Each class you miss you're just basically throwing away what, ~$60?
