Evening Classes

edited July 2013 in General
Anyone take evening classes before? Did you like or not like it? Was your attentiveness the same as in day classes?

I might take an evening course in DT. And since it'll be winter it'll get dark and cold quick but I think it'll be cool to go to class at night.

  • I'm taking an evening course DT next semester. I'm not too worried about how late it will be.
  • Yeah same I'm basically nocturnal anyway.
  • Damn it, this course in DT has the final on the day of another final. 1st at 8:30am-11:30am then 7pm. I wonder how this will turn out :(
  • Harbour Center is like a ghost town at night, just be careful when you wander off a couple blocks into the druggie area
  • Mine has a tutorial though.

@Whydoihavetoregister Harbour Centre isn't really near a druggie area at all is it? It's like near the Justice Centre and the criminal justice courts haha. I've walked around by myself in the middle of E. Hastings and near the Vancouver Insite and VANDU area before when I was like 17 for a project and I was fine haha! I'm more scared of Surrey in the daytime than I am E. Hastings at night. Some of the hobos are really cool, even the trannies.

The fastest way to get there is just hop on the Skytrain and get off at Waterfront right?
  • Some of the courses have a tutorial right after the class, and the class clad enough that there is only one tutorial section.
  • There are several tutorials in the class I have. I don't wanna say though cuz it might compromise my secret identity hahahaha.
  • Luckily I got the one right after the lecture though so I don't have to go there early!
  • What class are you taking downtown in the evening @lakerfanatic?
  • Tell me!!!!!!!!!!!! Lol what makes you think that?

I've taken several evening classes at harbour and if you're as nocturnal as you claim to be then I think you'll enjoy it. Keep in mind most of the courses are SFU NOW, so there is a lot of non-traditional students that have a lot to offer during in class discussion. Personally, I think this works for your benefit since teachers then tend to become more lenient and understanding when students need extensions or miss class because of 'real world problems' (aka your 3 kids at home are sick or your full time job is being demanding).

EDIT: Bring your own lunch because all the restaurants in gastown are $$$$$$$$$$
  • ^Cool thanks. Isn't there a McDicks nearby there, so I won't be worrying about that anyway :P

    So you're stalking me. I'm flattered. <3
  • DAMN IT! It's hard okay I was watching tv at the same time typing it plus it's late. It's hard to watch TV and think at the same time lol. Like it took me at least 45 seconds to write that.
  • Why are you always up so late anyway? Wanna come over and watch TV with me?
