Priority registration?

edited July 2013 in General
I enrolled in a course for Fall 2013 that has the restriction:

"Priority registration for students in a Surrey program.  Reserve restrictions come off on Saturday, July 27th."

I'm not in a Surrey program but I was still able to enroll in this course, anyone know if this is fine or not? Thanks

  • I think you'll get taken out in a few days. If not, awesome for you!
  • it means the restriction will go off on July 27, you can enroll in the course after that if you're not in the Surrey Program
  • Did you get kicked from the course??
  • Nope I'm still enrolled in it
  • Rofl that's awesome,
  • They usually have a set amount of reserved seats, so if you enrolled before all the seats got taken up, then you should be good.
  • Registration at SFU sucks, they bring in first year students who get priority registration, then in your second term you lose as if you are organized well, you cannot get into courses you need. It is awful how SFU operates. All they care about is your money, nothing else.
And believe me, I know, I do work here.
  • Second years last is the best way, how else do you want them to do it? The problem is everyone making there schedules in advance then being disappointed. Just roll with it on your registration day. All schools have this same problem. I know it's frustrating but there is no way to make everyone happy. If second years go before third years, and third years go before fourth years how the heck do you expect to ever graduate. First years need to go first since there are plenty of prereqs they need to take. If you went before the first years, the first years would be so screwed over.
