First semester help???

edited July 2013 in General
Hi I am a new undergraduate student accepted into sciences. Right now I plan on taking Chem 121, Math 154, Phys 101, and Bisc 101 in my first semester. Are four sciences in my first semester at the university level too difficult or should I drop one science course and take something like criminology?

  • Chem 121 has a lab I believe? That'll be some extra work. If you aren't strong in math expect to have to put alot of work into math 154. And bisc is alot of memorization. Phys 101 will just be alot of doing practice problems. If you're focused it shouldn't be too bad, however there is a huge transition from highschool to university that you will need to get over. You can not get behind. If you do, you will fail. You can't cram everything right before the midterm, trust me it doesn't work. If you have good study habits go for it. If you don't I would just take 3 courses.
  • lots of people take those combination of courses during their first semester. that's what i took in my first semester too
  • Which course did you find the most difficult?
  • For me Math 154 was the most difficult course since I'm not strong in math and then probably chem 121 > phy 101 > bisc 101. Should be fine as long as you attend lectures and do a the textbook questions.
  • you found BISC 101 the easiest?? I had a tough time in bisc 101, maybe cuz i barely studied that lol
  • Well, for me. Since it's pure memorization and I have more interest in biology compared to math cause I suck at it :/
