live close to campus

I am a third year student looking for a place to stay that is close to campus.
I have been living near north road for since last fall. It may look close to sfu, however, the 143 is guaranteed bus full. Waiting for more than 30 min isn't unusual. 
So, I am planing to move to somewhere that I can access to campus easily with fair renting cost. Wondering how are 135 and 144? Are they in the same situation as 143? 

Anyone living on campus looking for roommate can also contact me.

    135 is a tandem-bus so there's usually room and 144 is never full but depending from where you live you might not get a seat as it does get a little squishy after passing Duthie area. 

    Can't you just bus to Lougheed skytrain and get off at Sperling and catch 144 or does that take too long? Probably same time it takes 143 to get to SFU huh

    The thing with 143 is that once I get on, it only takes about 10-15 min to get to sfu. Including the waiting time, it takes approximately 40 min to get to school. If I choose to take the 97 to lougheed and get the 145 from production way, it takes around 40 min as well. So, on school days, I would stand at the 143 bus station and watch all the bus full passing by. On exam days, I would leave early and take bus 97. 
    Its just not worth it paying extra rent living one stop away from sfu and having to wait 30 min for the bus.

    You could look for a place near the corner of Duthie and Hastings.  The 135 and 144 both stop there and, if you time it right, you can get on a bus with lots of seating.  Even if there's standing room only, it's only about 5-6 minutes.  

    You could also look for a place along Duthie.  Depending on how much you want to pay, there are basement suites nearby or apartments (Maple Place & Montecito Towers - Maple Place being a little more sketchy).
