Getting a N in a course.

Long story short I am going end up with a N for missing an assignment, professor wont let me make it up so I will have to re-take the course next fall. What will it look like on my transcript? When I re-take it will my new mark completely replace the F i will get or will it always be there?

    the f or n will still show up on your transcript however the new mark is the one that will be used to calculate your gpa

    So basically it just means I fail the course until I replace it with a new mark right?
