If you consider ECON 103, ECON 105 is also 4 credits. I wouldn't go the econ route for electives though unless the subject actually interests you. The classes are curved so if you end up finishing with a below average percent you will get a below average letter grade that will then be multiplied by 4 which can hurt your GPA. Also most of the kids in those ECON classes are required to take them, so they will be keener to do well than people taking them as an elective.
That said though if you are interested in econ go for it. I did econ 103 as an elective and it worked out fine.
