parking ticket?

should i pay this or just ignore it, i dont have a permit and i heard that they cant enforce the ticket. any advice?

  • They'll send it to collections and it'll affect your credit rating. I'd pay it.
  • No, they can't do anything about it, so i'd ignore it.

    However, if they somehow have your car assigned to your student id (you had a parking permit) then they will add that sum to your tuition total, and make you pay it, and won't allow you to graduate (since you still have tuition owing). Now I'm not sure if they can really enforce this. Schools apparently have their own set of rules they obey.

    However #2, if they ticket you for the 3rd time, they will boot your car. AFAIK, you could call the police and claim sequestration of your vehicle, which I am almost sure they are not allowed to do, so you wouldn't have to pay that time either. But, after that, they can tow your car (private property) and then you will be paying the towing fees. And unlike Impark, from what I understood, they will be just towing your car and be done with you.

  • A friend wasn't given her SFU diploma because of (huge) unpaid parking tickets.
