Is it worth it to ask the teacher to bump me up, or will i just piss him off.. anyone have any experience with asking teachers to bump up a grade?Normally I wouldnt ask, but 0.4%!!! HE has a final exam viewing tomorrow, so I will see him tomorrow either way.

  • There is no harm in asking. I highly suggest you do.
  • If the teacher is Mark Blair don't ask, I remember reading an email where he totally bitched someone out over asking for something similar.
  • Depending on who the professor is I would talk to him, especially if your going to see him anyways. Ask if theres something you can do for extra credit instead of just asking for a higher grade even if it is just .4%. Some professors will say yeah I'll just bump you up and others aren't quite as nice when it comes to this
  • Doesn't hurt to ask. If you ask him and he says no, you might annoy him a bit, and you keep your own grade.

If you keep your mouth shut, he won't be annoyed by you specifically, but maybe by someone else with similar inquiries, you will keep your own grade

Just ask him and see what happens.
  • Even if it's Mark Blair, ask. It's one person's experience and we have no idea how that person asked specifically or what happened.
  • ^true dat

You pay thousands of $$$ in tuition and basically the profs' salaries. You have the right to ask.
  • No :(
    Oh well..
  • My prof said it's easier to change an B+ to an A- than a D to a C- so just ask.
