How is PSYC 201W with Jamal Mansour?

edited November 2012 in General
I'm asking because it's required for my major program and I have all the prerequisites, however I'm not a mathematical genius by any means. Has anybody taken this course before? I'm planning to pair it with a few easier courses as well as a lighter courseload so I'm willing to put in the work for it, but if it relies heavily on mathematical concepts I may require a tutor. Thoughts?

  • I'm taking it right now! Not much of a workload outside of doing your readings. There's also two papers (although, the second one is a revision of the first) and a project. You get to choose your own research topic for the project, which can be exciting. The lectures are incredibly slow IMO. Dr. Mansour can communicate the material well, but she spends a lot of time on really easy concepts. Other than that, it's not that bad. You might not be extremely fascinated with the course, but it's useful knowledge. Just my two cents.
