Chem 121 w/ Holdcroft and Leach Midterm

edited October 2012 in General
Hi, I am a first year at SFU and i'm currently taking chem 121; and i was just wondering how it is. I'm really worried about my marks and the upcoming midterm. Is it very hard? (for the practice midterm i managed to get 6/12...) is the practice midterm anything like the actual one?

PS. I am also thinking of transferring from SCI to CRIM; how would I do that? (I am already taking CRIM 101)

  • Don't worry. Last year I got 8/12 in practice but 31/33 in real midterm.
  • If you're maybe changing majors, have a look at Academic Advising:

    and for Help see:

  • was the midterm similar to the practice one?

    thanks for the help
  • I remember that Chem 121 midterm. I took it a few years back... but Holdcroft totally screwed us over. He's a nice guy in all, but all his examples in class are waaaaaaay easier than the ones on the midterm. He also didn't give us any formula sheets, so I basically spent all of my studying time memorizing the formulas (there were about 50-60 different formulas), and later on I found out that the prof that teaches Chem 121 in the Spring semesters gives you a formula sheet with all the formulas on it. Definitely unfair to the students taking the course in the fall.
