biomedical physiology careers!!!
Hey, i worried to the fact that biomedical physiology may be something else then i expected. I looked at the site and it stated that the traditional careers related to this degree are
- Exercise Physiologist
- Fitness Instructor
- Geriatric Recreational Coordinator
- Kinesiologist
- Rehabilitation Specialist
- Special Education Assistant
- Sports Analyst
- Sports Counsellor
- Sports Program Supervisor
but these seem more relevant to a kinesiology major then the biomedical physiology one. I AM DEFINITELY NOT INTERESTED IN THESE CAREERS. I want to work in a research and lab work primarily in a hospital or healthcare, for example, analysing blood and tissues of patients, more relvant towards histology! and laboratory work!!!!!! please respond asap! i really like the content of this degree but im really scared and worried that this degree may lead to something else!!!

major, you'll have completed the lower division requirements for the MBB
minor. After that, you only need 5 upper division courses to complete
the minor. You can focus on laboratory courses so that you'll be
prepared for laboratory research (ex. MBB 308, 309, 432) and maybe
immunology courses (MBB 426, 427 and HSCI 442) since you're interested
in medicine. Also, I suggest doing an honors degree, which involves an
independent study semester (ISS), where you complete a thesis by doing
full time research (40 hours a week) for one semester.
Employers look for relevant experience when hiring. If you have laboratory experience, you shouldn't have trouble being competitive for laboratory research assistant positions. If you want to lead a research team, however, you'll need a PhD.
