Buying Books Elsewhere

MXC
edited August 2012 in General
I'm sure most of you guys know how ridiculously expensive textbooks are.
But what do guys think if I were to buy these textbooks elsewhere for alot less, like maybe in China i suppose?
Would they be available in China? Anyone know?

  • LOL... or try books2go.ca. That's where I most of my textbooks provided that they have what I need :) You'll be able to buy books for a third of what they charge at the bookstore

  • honestly guys, the best thing to do is buy used books. You can find them at the bookstore, on facebook via the sfu buy and sell group page/ even the ubc one sometimes has same books as ours, or just check amazon.ca.

There is no point wasting your money on a new book nor the latest edition because it is exactly the same. I wasted so much money wasting new books/latest editions in undergrad and it was not worth it at all. Sometimes, the prof never even refers to the textbook. You should buy the textbook after you've talked to the prof. Hey.. libraries carry the book too. just copy the pages you need. you won't need the whole book.
