Anyone took math 322 or math 340?

edited July 2012 in General

None of my friends took them before. Anyone knows which course is easier? which one is more useful?

  • I have not taken them either, so no idea about the difficulty. However, the instructor of MATH 340 is one of the worst in teaching I have experienced. As for usefulness, MATH 340 is the first course in abstract algebra, which is one of the fundamentals in mathematics, just like analysis. MATH 322 complex variables is essential in applied math, and I felt easy when teaching it to myself (complex analysis seems to be easier than real analysis, too).
    P.S.: I'm a physics student.
