Bell curve average

in a course with a bell curve, what does the class average get? B-?

    I think for first and second year courses, it's in the C+ to B- range, while in third and fourth year courses its in the B to B+ range.

    I'm wondering that too. My prof for Geog 100 (Ivor Winton) scales... class average was 10/24 for midterm. Anyone know what his curved average is?

    its different for every class, but most of the time they make the averge C+

    if the marks distribution is normal, or within a certain range, they wont curve it at all

    100/200 level: C+
    300 level: B- to B
    400 level: B to B+

    That's just rough though, it can differ a bit.

    Alright wow. So if I'm getting an (unscaled) average of about a low C+ (before the final anyways), how high do you think my mark could go up?

    That depends on if your professor scales grades, what the class average is, how well you do on the final and what the final is worth.

    i dunno what kind of nice 4th year courses you guys are taking with average scaled up to B+, i've usually been a couple percent below average and ended up with C-'s
