Enrollment Date?

edited October 2011 in General
When is yours? Mine is November 18 at 4:30PM. Is that bad? My GPA is over 3, isn't that good enough? :(

i have it even worse. my gpa is ~3.3 but i only have 30+ credits and no scholarship

  • when does the enrollment period start and when does it end?
  • That is the problem: I don't know when the start date is! Last year it seemed to have been the 8th, but I'm not sure if it stays consistent from year to year.

I should note that a scholarship seems to automatically place you right at the beginning of the enrollment schedule, so if anyone with a scholarship could contribute their date I would be most grateful. (I had a scholarship last semester [my first semester here at SFU] but I only managed a 3.2 GPA because I was completing all my gen ed requirements. Darn math!)
  • First day is on the 7th.
  • I talked to an advisor and enrolments are level 1 to 8. Level 1 and 8 people get first dibs, they are people with scholarships, first years, and people who are about to graduate. Then they move to level 2 and 7, then level 3 and 6, and finally people who get the unwanted courses (like me) are level 4 and 5... Don't ask for a formula, there isn't any... She just told me to take GPA boosters and get a minor.
  • so will i get no classes if I am on Nov. 16th?
  • I've had shitty enrollment dates almost every semester but it's never really stopped me from getting the courese  I need.
  • It only matters if you're trying to get into easy or popular courses. My registration dates were horrible for years and I've never had a problem getting into compsci, math, science, or philosophy courses.
  • Hey guys just in case if you are wondering what the first day of enrollment is in the future, there's a pretty surefire way of knowing I think: it's the very 1st day of the work study registration period. Look for the day in the e-mail with your registration date and you should see. So eg for this semester's e-mail you can see that the work study registration begins on Nov 7.

I've been checking to see if this was the date for I think 3 consecutive semesters with my friend who has an open scholarship and it's been right every time. So it's not exactly scientific but it might still be right.
