Recommendations For Best Phone Provider with Reception on the Burnaby Campus

edited June 2011 in General
Hi,

I was hoping that I could get help in regards to getting the best phone provider. I am currently with Mobilicity until September, but I was up on campus in March and had hardly any reception anywhere. I know there are certain rooms where no one can get reception, but with Mobilicity, I almost had none all over or just Canadian Roaming which I couldn't use. Mobilicity has gotten better this year, but I don't know whether it'll be good enough by the fall. I'll be up on campus again quite soon so I can check, but I plan on changing providers. Oh, and all my courses should be primarily on the mountain next year.

I heard that Fido and Rogers are quite good. So are Telus and Bell? However, I'm wondering about Virgin Mobile or Koodoo? I want a smart phone now, but I also don't want to commit to a 3-year contract. Virgin seems to have a good offer for that, but I heard their reception isn't that good either.

So please, if I could get your advice/opinion, that'd be very much appreciated!

Thanks :)

  • Stick with Rogers and Fido and you will be fine. I've been with Fido for over 8 years and I've always had great service and technical support with them, plus your Fido Dollars build up over time which you can use towards a new phone. I have heard mixed reviews about Mobilicity, so I would avoid that company.
  • Yeah Rogers hasn't given me any probelms for 4 years.
