edited January 2011 in General
The SFU iPhone app I have been working on for the last 4 months hit the app store today. Id like to thank you guys for your feedback it really helped me figure out what people wanted.

you can get it the appstore now for free. Id love to hear your feedback on whats good and what needs to change.
Im planning on releasing a v1.01 to fix some bugs and address some concerns that the university had. After that im planning a release of 1.1 with a minimum of 2 new features by the first week of February.

It's awesome. Kudos to the team that put this together... I can see it being very useful and relevant. The twitter tabs on the bottom are great for when your bored or trying to kill time between classes (or in classes :P)

The design could be improved by using higher resolution icons (they're not as smooth as they could be on the iretina display). Also I would use white background instead of the forest green you got going on.. would give it a more modern and clean look.

Here's the iTunes link for anyone who wants to download the app:
    http://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/sfu/id399178079?mt=8

    Good job once again!
  • retina support is something I need to add still. its tough because every icon needs to be done twice. some of the icons I dont have the proper resolultion for retina so I have to get someone to redo them which will take a while.

im trying to make as much of it retina supported as I can but those initial 8 icons are gonna be the toughest.
  • just out of curiosity, how do you guys make money out of this, since it's a free app?
  • we dont :)

making money on the app isnt on my mind right now.
ads such as google ads offer too low rates to be worth it.
I could do more targeted ads with business on campus but its still a long way till that becomes possible
