Like I said, never had him, just judging by his textbook because that`s the one that Dudnyk uses. Read all the required chapters (1-10, 13) and it was just a waste of time. Iryna`s notes were far better.
i had barkin back in first year and seriously.. i dosed off abt 65% of the time.. the stuff wasn't hard but she was horrible in her mode of delivery plus her accent was rather heavy so you really have a hard time listening/understanding her (hence the dosing off).. that said.. whatever she says can be read and understood in the textbook.. and her midterms and final were relatively easy..
i was in the class with a bunch of smarty pants so even though i ended up with a 80% avg i got a C+.. so i retook it with Curry and had a blast.. X)
i've heard some horrible things about doug too.. but honestly if i had to pick between these two.. i'd go with him.. at least i was able to understand what he's saying without second guessing..
