Question on penatly for swaping course

edited December 2010 in General
Is any penalty for swaping a course from 4 units to 3 units?
If so, may I ask advisor to help me on this penalty, becasuse I probably can waive this 4 units course.

  • Since your course load will decrease by 1 unit, I think you will have to pay a $50 penalty:
"Tuition penalty of $50 for each class dropped (maximum total penalty $100) during this period, if your net course load has decreased."

funny they don't waive $50 off your tuition if your course load exceeds the recommended load.. yes i'm a little bitter from the amount of tuition SFU jipped off of me.. but just saying they could offer some positive incentives for students.. =\

anyway..i'm not sure if course load is determined by credits or the actual course cause if it's the latter you shouldn't be charged with the penalty.. i'd double check with the advisor..=)
  • I don't actually think it would penalize you. Your net course load is not decreasing, you're merely taking a class that is worth one less unit. Not 100% sure though.
  • Thanks! I have got one saying from an advisor that the penalty only generated when you decrease your class load not the mount of unit. For reference only.
