RE: CMPT co-op workshop requirement
So, I know that at least two of you are in the same boat as I am. That is, you got an e-mail saying you need your BOL I and workshops completed by January 9th. Well, I phoned Harriet just a moment ago regarding the situation and she says that there will be a "special" workshop offered for people in our position to get these requirements met. Apparently they need to assess how many students are in this position, but she said the workshop will be held for resume writing and cover letters, on Jan 7, 10-12.
A mass e-mail will be sent at some point to verify this information / notify everyone in this position. But this should at least settle the worries of some people I suppose

Im sure a lot of people are in the same situation, my guess would be almost everyone whos taking CMPT 275 in spring..
I asked the advisor if there was a typo or mistake in the dates because you mentioned Jan 29th as the original deadline. According to her, we're in competition with UBC and Waterloo students who will have their resumes completed by the 2nd week of January :S
Ah, maybe that's my fault for not being more clear... There is one workshop offered on January 15th, and another on the 29th I think. The one on the 15th coincides with my schedule though, so the next one was the 29th which I asked about. I was told it was okay, so if the 29th was okay, the 9th should not have been a deadline... Oh well.

You can maybe try to e-mail (or better yet, phone) someone and ask if you can receive an override? Many people who took it didn't do anything until several days into it...
