Math 150

Is this class always graded on a curve? Are the students in this class hard to compete with? Do they usually have prior experience with calculus? As terrible as it sounds, I hope they all fail so that I can get an A. okay maybe not, but I am worried about where my grade will fall. I've taken calculus in high school so I've got an advantage there

    also, do the midterms and finals have multiple choice?

    Math courses are not graded on a curve and they dont have multiple choice questions

    No, but they're almost always scaled.

    also, did you find precalculus more difficult than calculus?

    The exact details will vary from teacher to teacher. Some common adjustments, which may or may not be used in your course, are as follow:

    * Round fractional marks upwards.
    * Lower the "out of" mark for an exam. For example, if a midterm exam is out of 45 and the highest mark on it was 40, then a teacher might make the midterm out of 40.
    * Add a small bonus to everyone's mark in cases where a course was deemed difficult.

    Again, these are just examples of possible adjustments that a teacher may do

    For MATH 251, our professor simply lowered the percent ranges that designated letter grades. At the end, a 50% final grade was a B.

    damn. i hope math 150 is that easy =D

    can someone give me some past figures on math 150 grades and percentages?

    Same thing in math 232 happened to me - basically what BSang said. The course was murder on grades and the prof just lowered the thresholds so 57% was like a B or B-.
