SIFE... Best club on campus

edited September 2010 in General
I don't even go to SFU anymore, but if I did I would totally join SIFE... seems like their doing a lot of productive and cool things through it. SMA gets a shout out too for how much they've done over the summer :)

Any others you'd like to add to the list?

I've been trying to join SIFE this summer, but it isn't very easy. They rarely recruit for project member positions. M2 is the only one they've recruited for in the past three months, and that's not really what I'm interested in. I want to get into the community development areas.

We'll see, hopefully things pick up for the fall term.

I thought clubs had to accept anyone who wants to join in order to get funding from the SFSS.

Well they had us sign up at clubs day, and then go to an info session... but they said to get a physical position in one of their groups, you have to apply when spots open. And none have yet, save for the Money Management program, which I am not interested in.

It's weird, the only business club that I know is like that. SMA has weekly meetings and always is encouraging any new people to come out. Then again, SIFE is based around all of the little offshoots/companies that they run, so it makes sense that you'd need to get in on one of those to officially join.

@Desolate I think your right about the fact that your official membership depends on being a part of one of their "small business" enterprises

I was impressed by http://www.madrenegade.com/ which is a web design company operated and managed by some members of SIFE... clever source of revenue for the club, and a great source of experience for members.

Similar to the golf tournament, etc. put on by other business clubs except truely entrpreneurial
