BUS251 Access Code help please??

edited September 2010 in General
I made a big mistake of buying the access code for BUS251 too early.
At the moment, it's extremely likely I'm getting one of my waitlisted courses, so I'll probably have to drop 251.
Totally screwed myself over since access codes are non-refundable.

Does anyone know if it will still be valid for other semesters? :confused:
So far it seems my only options are to sell it...or hope I can use it in the future.

It's completely new and unused, but would anyone actually buy it from me??
Being a one-time use thing, I can understand suspicions of getting tricked into buying a used code...
The only solution I've come up for this, is that they use the code on the spot right after buying.

Otherwise I've run out of ideas and feel like I've thrown $56 down the drain. ;_;

(On a sidenote: I'm taking BUS 237&272, along with 2 other courses. If I don't get my waitlisted class, would it be overkill to take them all with BUS 251? My friend told me 251 had a pretty heavy workload...)

Any insight/advice would be greatly appreciated thanks! =)

    I don't believe there is an expiration date. The only thing is that it might not be valid if you redeem it next term if the profs decide to rev up to the newest edition of the textbook.

    Personally, I think you could handle that load. BUS 251 wasn't very hard I found, though it depends on if you have a bit of an idea about accounting terms already. I only read 4 out of 12 chapters of the text. All I did was WileyPlus, skimmed parts of the text and read her lecture slides to study for the two exams and I walked out of the class with an A-. One thing to focus on though is theory. I did great in that area, but the class average on theory sections were very, very low (like in the area of 40% or so). Also, make sure to study the format of the various statements. Balance Sheet, Income Statement + Statement of Retained Earnings, and the Cash Flow Statement. In the summer term the Balance Sheet was on our midterm, while the I/S + SRE, as well as the Cash Flow were on the final. Both exams were difficult to finish on time, as there was lots to do, but both exams were very, very fair.

    My prof was Anne MacDonald though, and I don't believe she's teaching the class this term. My load this term is MATH 157, BUS 237, BUEC 232 and ECON 103 and I think that will be fine as long as I work hard. 237 seems like it will be easy as all hell (I know computers, networks and the like decently well, so that will help). 272 I found wasn't that hard. 251 you have to put the work in for homework and studying for exams, but it isn't a completely brutal class (though it is very boring).

    It's up to you, but good luck regardless of what you do!
