Anyone else had trouble with SFU parking?

edited August 2010 in General
In the past month alone they've double-charged me twice (totaling around $16) and, on a day where I took transit up and never even used my credit card, charged me $13 for a full-day WMX/Convo Mall parking spot. What am I supposed to do? I can contest the charges, but don't I need physical proof? I can prove I paid the first two charges and that they charged me twice, but the recent one where they charged me when I didn't even have my car, how am I supposed to prove I didn't? I know I didn't drive up, my mom knows that she dropped me off at the skytrain station, my brother knows that he used my car to get to work that day, but is that enough?

So frustrating. Never parking at Burnaby again if it isn't with a parking pass.

wait.. how the heck can SFU parking charge you without you swiping the credit card at the ticket machine?

That's why I'm confused. It charged me 13 dollars even, which is the price of parking for the day at the Convo Mall/WMC areas, but I'm a million percent positive that I took transit that day. My brother and I share a car, and he took it to work. He went up to the Burnaby campus to play soccer, but he parked the car at Surrey campus and took transit up to Burnaby (I know because I took transit back to Surrey after I was done classes for the day and was working on a project there, and my brother dropped me off the keys so I could drive home that night). We have an SFU Surrey parking pass, and regardless, you can't pay for parking at SFU Surrey anyways.

    I'm just very confused. :\

I'd suspect credit card fraud personally; call SFU security and ask them to check if someone installed a skimmer on the machines at SFU Burnaby or Surrey.

    ^ word..

next you should call the credit card centre and see what other suspicious charges are on there and cancel the card..

it's rather odd that this persisted for a month.. usually these 'card thieves' max out the card within a very short time (2 weeks maybe? although dependent on your card limit).. my visa was maxed out in 2 days.. @_@ and i couldn't buy textbooks.. X(

That's the thing, these are the only charges out of the ordinary. I can account for every other charge on there except for these three.

I'll have to figure it out I guess.
