I'll be attending SFU starting September, and I'll be living in residence. But I have a few questions concerning residence:

1. How is the food? (since meal plan is mandatory)
2. Are the washrooms shared? Are they clean?
3. What is the male-female ratio?

    Hi, Magnanimous.

    1. The food is actually pretty expensive, (considering the portions they give you) but good!
    2. The washrooms are shared. Depending on if you are male / female, you might find it awkward lol
    3. I'm living in Townhouses in the summer, and my townhouse is 4 guys. But other dorms have one girl and 2 girls, so it really depends!

    1. The food is horrible, honestly, and it is SUPER expensive. One way to really cut down on spending money is NEVER buy drinks (unless its coffee) of course. This may not seem like a lot but if you think about it: a $2 drink 3 times a day (each meal) = $6, multiply that by 7, = $42 on soft drinks in one week, multiply that by 12+ = over $500 you would save per semester if you never bought a drink and just had the tap water. It really is a good way to save.

    2. The washrooms are all shared, everywhere. They are pretty clean, they get cleaned like everyday I think.

    3. I havn't lived in res since the beginning of 2008, but the guy-girl ratio is pretty even, unless you are on an all girl floor of course. And I don't think there is an all guy floor cuz not enough people sign up for it lol!

    1)The food from the cafeteria sucks. Its expensive and tasteless.
    2)I lived in one of the other buildings, known as "McCow". It also had shared washrooms, but they are filthy.

    And be aware of these people called Community Advisors, or "CAs". They are the no-fun police.

    They had an all guy floor in my first year. Most guys on it claimed they didn't sign up for it.
