Summer courses affect GPA?

I was told summer courses don't affect your CGPA at all but I'm not sure whether the guy even knew what he was talking about. I'm on AP already....I really can't screw up this term if it affects my CGPA

    No, summer semester does not effect your GPA. The courses are just for fun and it doesn't matter if you fail all your courses.. they won't be looked upon later.
