What? Buec 232 = STAT 201?

edited April 2010 in General
Stat 201:

REQ-30 units. Students with credit for STAT 101, 102, 203 (formerly 103), 270 (formerly MATH 272), or STAT 301 may not take STAT 201 for further credit

BUEC 232:

REQ-MATH 157 and 15 units. MATH 157 may be taken concurrently with BUEC 232. STAT 270, Introduction to Probability and Statistics, will be accepted in lieu of BUEC 232. Students with credit for STAT 270 may not take BUEC 232 for further credit

They told me that I can't take STAT 201 because I took Buec 232? Could anyone explain why?

If I can't take it, why did the system let me enroll in the course? "may not take STAT 201 for further credit" means even if I take it, I won't get a grade for it?

I think is because Buec 232 = Stat 270 ? It says "STAT 270, Introduction to Probability and Statistics, will be accepted in lieu of BUEC 232".
