easy minor for applied sciences - general studies

i really came to the point where i just wanna get a degree and get the f out.
applied sciences - general studies is the field that i might go for since right now im in engineering.. its kind of "downgrade" to general studies

in general studies there is this option of doing 2 minors where at least one has to be from applied sciences field..
what's an "easy" applied sciences minor i can do?

btw. i already finished first and almost second semester of first year classes for engineering science (woohoo... :| )

    Take the summer off. Recharge your batteries and come back in the fall bright-eyed and bushy-tailed.

    As for applied sciences? I dunno. "Easy" doesn't seem to come to mind when I think about the applied sciences. :-P

    Getting a general studies degree is possibly the biggest waste of money out there.

    Seriously, listen to NukeChem and take the summer off. I know if you go for a general studies degree it will end up being the biggest mistake you've ever made.

    thats never worked for me,
    in fact the more time off i took the more i realize i don't want to be at sfu anymore lol

    also, had i not taken summers off i would've graduated long ago :(

    im in my first year still, second semester finishing up right now..
    i really dont like it, this is not what i want to do in life. i mean the income is great after that but i dont want to do math and physics all day.

    do you think business is better? is it a lot of writing and reading type of thing?

    Well, just know that your income will not be great with a general studies degree.

    And you don't seem committed, and you need to be for Business. If you don't put a full effort in you'll definitely be in a world of hurt thanks to the bell curving of all business classes. Business is eat or be eaten, so you have to be willing to put in the work. If that appeals to you and sounds doable, go for it. I'm going into business myself.

    I agree. Take the summer off, and reevaluate things. I had a 1.9 GPA after my first two semesters (luckily only 20 credits, because I was lazy). I took the summer off, came back motivated and I've managed to get my GPA to 3.2. If your doing poor academically, definitely take a break. If you're just not liking engineering, do some research and find something you may enjoy, and try it.

    first semester i was doing aite.. my gpa was 3.1 but this semester i just stopped give a shit. i barely went to any class, and im studying a day before the exam :/
    i dont think im failing anything yet but if i take a break, ill be stuck here for another extra 3 years cuz of class availability and shit like that..

    but i see your point. thanks for all the replies btw!

    Trust me, taking a break of sorts does help. I went to SFU from Fall 2002 straight through to Summer 2004 and by Summer '04 I was like OH MY GOD I'M GOING TO STAB MYSELF WITH A RUSTY FORK IF I HAVE TO DO ONE MORE GODDAMN CONSECUTIVE SEMESTER.

    Luckily I snagged a job in the fall and was SO happy to just leave work at work at the end of the day. And come Spring 2005 I was eager to get back into the swing of things. :teeth:

    I went through something similar and I ended up volunteering at an orphange in central america for a year. When I came back, I was more than ready to resume. My grades sky rocketed and I was able to advance in my career at the same time.
