Any of you taken HIST 277 (Greek History) DE?
Wondering what it was like/course load/marking/midterm/final.
Any insight on this would be nice.

As for readings, they were the worst set of readings I've ever had to do (most were way too academic and barely relevant), and many were very long 20+ pages, 3 or 4 per week through JSTOR. The worst part was, that you had to read them because in the stupid flash website, for each reading you had to answer multiple-choice questions. These questions were worth 15% of your total mark if I remember correctly.
The other stupid thing about the course, were the forced discussions. You had to do about 3 of them, 500 words each, again through the stupid flash-based website. You don't respond to each other's discussions, you just read them, then you have to post again, summarizing/editing/improving on your previous post. Then 1 out of 3 times, you are chosen to summarize the entire discussion of your group and post. (If I'm giving you a headache, wait until you have to do it yourself)
The book review, midterm, and final were all relatively easy in my opinion. You'll probably get a first-year TA for the course who has to mark all 60 papers, so they'll probably be pretty good with marks. The TA I had was good with marks, so I didn't have any problems. Overall, it was one of the easier A's I've ever gotten, but one of the most frustrating at the same time.
Hope that helps...
